Weekends are not just days of rest for me, but a time to create something new, explore my creativity and make my home a little more “mine.” I’ve always been fond of DIY projects – there’s a unique satisfaction that comes from creating something with your own hands and making it a part of your daily life.
My First DIY – A Mason Jar Candle Holder

The first DIY project I tried during lockdown was mason jar candle holders . I dug out old jars, painted them, and added little fairy lights. When the lights were on at night, the whole corner felt like a cozy coffee shop. I remember thinking that day, “How beautiful life can be just by making something so simple!”
DIY Plant Corner – My Green Therapy

After that, I created a plant corner for my balcony . I recycled some old plastic bottles and wooden crates to make plant stands. I painted each plant in a separate pot—some with smiley faces, some with quotes. Now, when I look at those plants in the morning while drinking tea, I feel a sense of peace. This corner has become like my stress-free zone.
DIY Wall Art – My Expression on the Walls

One weekend, I decided to decorate a wall in my bedroom myself. I took some inspiration from YouTube and created collage wall art from my old magazines . Each picture was connected to a memory of mine—travel photos, quotes, and little memories. Whenever I look at that wall, it feels like my story is written there.
DIY Organizers – Making Life Simpler
I’m one of those people who finds peace in seeing things organized. So I made drawer organizers from old cardboard boxes . A little wrapping paper, a little creativity—and everything’s neat and clean! I realized that DIY isn’t just about decoration, it’s also about changing a lifestyle . Every item I make reminds me that there’s beauty in simplicity.
Why DIY Means More to Me

DIY projects have taught me patience and self-satisfaction. With each project, I get to know my inner artist a little more. I feel that DIY is not just a way to beautify your home, but also a way to find your inner peace. Every time a guest comes to my house and says, “What a cute idea!”, I feel a little joy in my heart—that I’ve created a little beauty in my life.
Final Thoughts
If you’re craving a little positivity and freshness in your busy life, try a small DIY project over the weekend. Whether it’s a painted flower pot, a photo frame, or a handmade candle—when you create something with your own hands, it becomes not just an object, but a feeling.
For me, these DIY projects are like therapy—simple, peaceful, and full of joy. And honestly, it’s these little things that make my everyday life beautiful.
This blog is my personal experience. When doing DIY projects, be careful about safety and choose materials based on your convenience
